Thesis

On August 6 and 9, 1945, the United States successfully dropped atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, respectively. Although the droppings of these atomic bombs helped the Allies triumphantly win World War II, they tragically resulted in more than 200,000 Japanese deaths and injuries, not to mention the thousands more deaths from radiation-related sickness in the years following. Furthermore, the successful use of these atomic bombs has paved the way for rapid nuclear development, creating possibilities for nuclear disasters, wars, and bombings that could occur at the press of a button.
